Construction of The Old Stone Church began in 1918 and finished in 1922. It was hand-built by with granite from Stone Mountain by The Antioch East Congregation who occupied it until 1950. A caucasian-only corporation called Candler Park Improvement Corporation and the Candler Park (Men’s) Civic Club purchased the building and land and made it their clubhouse. Phoenix Unitarian Fellowship owned it briefly between 1977 and 1980. The church is currently owned by the First Existentialist Congregation of Atlanta.
