Southern Magnolias on the Eastside Trail of the Beltline are an original feature of the 1907 Ponce de Leon Park. These trees stood between the railroad tracks and Spiller Field's outfield, occasionally catching baseballs and providing a free perch for adventurous baseball fans, earning the nickname Spiller Magnolias. Trees Atlanta has propogated cuttings so that Spiller Magnolias will continue to thrive on the Beltline. (Jenni Girtman/ info@atlantaeventphotography.com)
